Global Fish Market Projection in 2030
World Aquaculture Production is expected to more than double Capture Fishery Production by 2030. FAO has projected that 90% of fish production will be consumed as food, fish meal and fish oil (8%), and the remainder non-food (2 %) in 2030. Then global fish consumption per capita is projected to reach 21.2 kg per capita in 2030, up from an average of 20.5 kg per capita in 2018-2020. While fish consumption will increase in Asia, Europe and America, while in Oceania it will remain stable and decline in Africa and fish consumption in China is projected to be around 45 kg per capita in 2030.
In addition, it is also projected that world consumption fish exports in 2030 will reach 44 million tons (equivalent to live weight). And around 47% of the world’s fish exports will come from Asian countries, including Indonesia taking part in providing seafood products.
In line with this statement, Indonesia has numerous potential to enter and supply the worldwide market with seafood. Indonesia strives to optimize it as much as possible so that in providing seafood products, it can meet worldwide market demand.
